Date Peanut Loaf
Date Peanut Loaf is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. chopped, pitted dates, 1 tsp. soda, 1 c. boiling water, 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar and 2 tbsp. shortening, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

In small bowl; sprinkle soda over dates. Cover with boiling water and set aside.
Cream brown sugar and shortening in larger salt and egg, beating well. Add peanuts and date mixture to this, mixing in well.
Stir in flour. Spoon into a x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
Bake at 325Β° for 1 hour or until done.
Yields 1 loaf.
(If salted peanuts are used, omit the salt in the recipe.)
