Date-Nut Loaf
Date-Nut Loaf is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 1/2 c. flour, 4 tsp. baking powder, 1 tsp. salt, 1 c. sugar and 1/4 c. shortening, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

Sift flour, baking powder, salt and sugar together.
Cut in shortening until like coarse meal.
Make a well and add milk and egg.
Mix until dampened.
Add nuts and dates.
Let stand 20 minutes before baking (in 9 x 5-inch pan).
When cool, cut in small chunks.
Put in a bowl and mix with Cool Whip, lightly.
