Date Nut Loaf is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. boiling water, 1 (6 1/2 oz.) pkg. pitted dates, cut up, 2 tbsp. shortening, 1 tbsp. grated orange peel and 1/2 c. orange juice, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Pour boiling water over dates and shortening.
Cool to room temperature.
