Date Nut Bread
Date Nut Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. chopped dates (1 pkg.), 1 1/2 c. boiling water, 1 tbsp. butter or margarine, 1/2 tsp. salt and 1 1/2 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Cover the dates with the boiling water and to this, add butter, salt and sugar. Slowly add dry ingredients (flour and baking soda), then add the nuts, egg and vanilla. Use 2 greased 8 1/2 x 4 1/4 x 2 1/2-inch foil loaf pans and bake at 350Β° for 45 to 50 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean.
