Date Nut Bread
Date Nut Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. sifted flour, 2 tsp. baking powder, 1/4 tsp. mace, 1/2 tsp. salt and 6 tbsp. butter or oleo, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Sift flour with baking powder, cinnamon, mace and salt.
Cream butter until soft; gradually add sugar.
Add well beaten eggs. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk.
Fold in dates, nuts and orange rind.
Pour into a 9-inch greased loaf pan.
Bake in preheated oven at 325Β° for 1 hour to 1 1/4 hours.
Cool in pan 5 minutes.
Remove and cool completely before slicing.
