Date Bars
Date Bars is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. butter or margarine, softened, 2 1/3 c. dark brown sugar, 3 eggs, 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla and 3 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in eggs, one at a time.
Stir in vanilla.
Combine flour, baking powder and baking soda; gradually add to creamed mixture.
Stir in dates and nuts.
Spread batter in a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
Bake in a preheated 375Β° oven for 45 minutes.
Cool in pan; cut in bars. Yields approximately 2 dozen bars.
