Date and Nut Bread
Date And Nut Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 3/4 c. packed brown sugar, 3 tbsp. butter or margarine, softened, 2 eggs, 3 c. flour and 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.

Cream butter and brown sugar; add eggs, beating well.
Combine flour, soda and salt and add alternately with milk.
Stir in nuts and dates, mixing thoroughly.
Spoon into 2 well-greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pans or five 16-ounce cans.
Bake loaves in a preheated 350° oven for
60 minutes and cans in a 325° oven for 60 to 70 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool on rack for 10 minutes.
Turn out of pans and continue cooling on rack.
Makes 2 loaves.
