Dark Fruit Cake
Dark Fruit Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/3 lb. butter, 6 eggs, 2 1/3 c. sugar, 4 c. flour and 1 lb. raisins (i use golden), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Cream butter and sugar.
Add beaten eggs and mix well.
Add 3 cups flour and liquids.
Blend thoroughly.
Add 1 cup flour to nuts and fruit.
Coat well and add to batter.
Line a large tube pan with paper and grease well.
Pack cake batter into pan.
Place in water bath canner and steam for 1 1/2 hours.
Remove from canner and put in 320Β° oven for 30 minutes or until done.
