Dark Bread
Dark Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 pkg. yeast, 1 tsp. sugar, 1/2 c. water (lukewarm), 1/4 c. molasses and 1/4 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Soak yeast and sugar for 15 minutes in water.
Add remaining ingredients and 2 cups white flour.
Beat 5 to 10 minutes with mixer.
Stir in rest of flour, enough to make a not too stiff bread dough.
Knead.
Place in greased bowl and cover.
Let rise until double in bulk.
Punch down.
Let rise again.
Shape into loaves.
Let rise and bake at 375Β° until done, about 45 minutes.
