Danish Abelskivers
Danish Abelskivers is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 to 2 1/2 c. flour, 1/2 tsp. baking soda, 2 tsp. sugar, 1 tsp. baking powder and 1 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
In a large mixing bowl, combine all of the ingredients but the egg whites; mix well.
Fold egg whites into the batter.
Heat Abelskivers pan until a drop of water will sizzle in it.
Put 1/2 teaspoon melted butter in each cup.
Fill each compartment 1/2 full.
Cook until lightly brown.
Turn dough once and cook other side.
Serve with maple syrup, butter, powdered sugar or jelly.
