Custard Filled Cornbread
Custard Filled Cornbread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 eggs, 3 tbsp. butter flavored crisco, 3 tbsp. sugar, 1/2 tsp. salt and 2 c. milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Preheat oven to 350Β°.
Grease an 8-inch square pan with butter flavor Crisco.
Put greased pan in oven and let it get hot while you mix the batter.
Melt Crisco; mix with eggs until well blended. Add sugar, salt, milk and vinegar and beat well.
Mix in flour, cornmeal, baking powder and soda; mix just until the batter is smooth and no lumps appear.
Pour batter into heated dish.
Pour cream into center of batter; do not stir.
Bake for 1 hour or until lightly brown.
