In a large bowl, whip the butter until light and fluffy.
Add confectioners sugar and beat an additional 5 minutes.
Add egg yolk, vanilla and brandy and beat for 10 minutes.
Add almonds and flour and mix well.
Knead for a few minutes.
Pat dough to 1/4-inch thickness and cut with cookie cutter.
Bake in a 375Β° oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
Do not brown. Cool and sprinkle with confectioners sugar.
