Crisscross Cookies
Crisscross Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. shortening, 1 egg, 3/4 c. sugar, 1 tbsp. milk and 1/2 tsp. lemon extract, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Mix shortening, egg and sugar together.
Stir in milk and lemon extract.
Sift flour, salt, cream of tartar and soda together; stir in creamed mixture.
Add raisins.
Roll into balls the size of walnuts.
Put on ungreased baking sheet; flatten with fork dipped in water.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 400Β°.
Makes 3 dozen.
