Grease wax paper with butter and set aside.
Cut butter or margarine into 1/2 inch pieces.
Combine sugar and next 5 ingredients in large heavy saucepan.
Cook over low heat stirring gently, until butter melts.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture reaches ball stage on candy thermometer reads 238Β° (about 15 minutes).
Remove from heat, stir in pecans and flavorings.
