Creamy Oyster Stew is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 to 5 tbsp. butter (do not substitute), 3 c. half and half, 1/4 tsp. pepper, 1 box oyster crackers and 12 to 16 oz. standard oysters with liquid, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Melt butter in heavy saucepan.
Add oysters and cook over low heat until edges curl.
Slowly add the half and half and heat gently.
Do not boil.
Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve steaming hot with oyster crackers.
