Cranberry Cherry Salad

Made with c. fresh or frozen cranberries, c. sugar, . grated orange rind, c. boiling water and (3 oz.) pkg. cherry flavored gelatin, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Grind cranberries.
Add sugar and orange rind; mix well.
Let stand 30 minutes.
Stir in 1/2 cup boiling water to dissolve sugar.
Refrigerate while preparing gelatin.
Stir gelatin into 1 cup boiling water until dissolved.
Add 1/2 cup cold water; chill until slightly thickened.
Stir in cranberry mixture, celery, apples and walnuts.
Pour into 1 (3 cup) mold.
Cover; chill until set.
Unmold onto serving plate.
Makes 12 servings.
