Cranberry Bread

Sift together first 5 ingredients.
Measure juice, rind and shortening.
Add hot water to make 3/4 cup liquid.
Add this and egg to dry ingredients.
Mix well but do not beat.
Add cranberries and nuts.
Pour into 9 x 5-inch loaf pan, greased on bottom only.
Bake at 325Β° for about 1 hour.
