Sift the first 5 ingredients.
Combine the egg, melted butter, hot water, orange juice and orange rind.
Add to dry ingredients; stir until moistened.
Add the whole cranberries and chopped walnuts.
Bake for 1 hour and 10 minutes at 325Β° in 2 well-greased 1-pound loaf pans or one 2-pound loaf pan.
Chill, wrap and refrigerate or freeze.
