Cracker Jacks
Cracker Jacks is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2/3 c. popping corn, 1 c. nuts (salted, roasted, parched) or pecans, 2 sticks butter or oleo, 1/2 c. white corn syrup and 1 tbsp. vinegar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Preheat oven to 250Β°.
Pop corn and set aside in a shallow baking pan.
Boil together syrup, brown sugar, butter and vinegar for 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and add soda, vanilla and nuts. Stir well.
Pour over popcorn.
Bake 1 hour, stirring each 15 minutes.
Break apart while warm.
Cool before serving.
