Crab Stew
Crab Stew is an moderately easy soup you can prepare in about 1 hour 12 minutes. Made with doz. crabs, clean and break bodies in half, c. flour (for roux), onion, chopped, celery, chopped and bell pepper, chopped, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Add 1 cup flour in enough oil to brown for roux.
Brown to a very dark color.
Add onions, celery, bell pepper, garlic, tomato paste and season to taste.
Add water while cooking (enough to make a gravy, about medium).
Simmer for 30 minutes.
Add crab bodies and simmer another 30 minutes.
Serve over rice.
