Country Tea Room Pastry
Country Tea Room Pastry is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 c. sifted all-purpose flour, 1 tbsp. sugar, 1 1/2 tsp. salt, 1 1/2 c. crisco or lard and 1 egg, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Blend flour, sugar and salt.
Cut in Crisco while particles are the size of peas. Beat egg. Blend in vinegar and water. Sprinkle over flour mixture, a tablespoon at a time, tossing with fork to mix. Gather dough together with fingers so it cleans the bowl. Chill before rolling. Makes two 9-inch 2 crust pies and one 9-inch pie shell.
