Sift flour with baking powder, salt and soda.
Quickly rub in shortening.
Then add enough buttermilk to make a soft dough. Turn out on floured dough board and knead lightly a few strokes. Then gently roll out to about 3/4-inch thick.
Cut in rounds and place on a greased cookie sheet.
Grease each biscuit with melted shortening.
Bake at 425Β° for 15 minutes.
Makes 15 biscuits.
