Sift flour, baking powder, sugar and salt into mixing bowl. Add corn meal.
Cut in shortening with fork or pastry cutter until mixture is fine textured.
Combine eggs and milk and add to dry ingredients.
Stir just enough to moisten dry ingredients.
Do not beat.
Pour into well-greased pan and bake in oven at 425Β° for 25 to 30 minutes.
