Coney Sauce
Coney Sauce is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 lb. hamburger, 1 small (no. 2) can tomato juice, 2 tsp. chili powder, 2 tbsp. catsup and 2 tsp. worcestershire sauce, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Fry together.
Drain hamburger and onions.
Mix together in a large kettle sugar, vinegar, juice, tomato purée, chili powder, pepper, catsup, sauce, Worcestershire sauce and garlic salt.
Add hamburger and onion to this mix.
Salt to taste.
Simmer over low heat for 1 hour.
Cool; run it through a meat grinder.
One pint makes 8 or 9 Coneys.
