Compota De Valencia
Compota De Valencia is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 lb. dried prunes or figs, 1/2 c. amontillado sherry, 1 large can (1 lb. 14 oz.) whole apricots, in syrup, 1 c. syrup (from canned apricots) and 1/4 tsp. cinnamon, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Simmer the prunes or figs in the sherry and apricot syrup for several minutes.
Add the cinnamon, allspice (if used) and orange rind.
Simmer 15 minutes.
Add the drained apricots and orange sections.
Chill.
