Cold Oven Pound Cake
Cold Oven Pound Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. butter-flavored crisco, 1 stick butter, 1 stick margarine, 3 c. sugar and 5 eggs, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Cream well butter, Crisco and margarine.
Add sugar, cream thoroughly.
Add eggs (one at a time), beat 1 minute after each egg. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
Add alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour.
Add flavoring (can be added to milk).
Pour mixture into greased and floured tube pan. Put in cold oven.
Bake a little more than an hour at 300° to 325°.
Wrap cake in Saran Wrap while still warm.
