Cold Oven Pound Cake
Cold Oven Pound Cake is an impressive dessert you can prepare in about 1 hour 50 minutes. Made with margarine or butter, softened, c. crisco, c. sugar, eggs and c. sweet milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Cream margarine and Crisco with sugar until fluffy.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each.
Add dry ingredients alternately with milk and flavorings.
Beat until smooth.
Pour into a greased, floured tube pan.
Place in a cold oven and turn to 325°.
Putting batter into a cold oven is what makes the smooth texture of this cake.
If you desire a coarser texture, preheat the oven. Flavoring can also be changed to your own taste.
Bake at 325° for 1 1/2 hours or until straw inserted in cake comes out clean.
Cool 5 minutes and turn out on wire rack to finish cooling.
