Cold Oven Cake

Sift flour together 5 times.
Cream butter and shortening well.
Add sugar, a little at a time.
Add flour, a little at a time, alternating with milk.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each egg.
Add lemon extract.
Turn batter into a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan.
Put in cold oven.
Light oven and set at 325Β°.
Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
