Coconut Pie

Mix the cornstarch, sugar, salt and egg yolks with 1/2 cup of the milk.
Heat remaining 2 cups to boiling.
Add the sugar mixture and cook until thick.
Add coconut and vanilla.
Pour in pie shell.
Whip the three egg whites, adding 6 tablespoons sugar. Bake at 425Β° for 5 minutes or until brown.
