Cream butter and sugar.
Add well-beaten egg yolks.
Then alternately add milk and flour, which has been sifted with the baking powder.
Then add stiffly beaten egg whites and vanilla extract.
Bake in two 9-inch layer pans, greased and lined on bottom with waxed paper, in 375Β° oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
