Clam Chowder is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 cans chopped clams, 2 1/2 c. diced potatoes, 4 slices bacon, chopped small, 4 tbsp. butter and 4 c. milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Fry bacon and onions.

Cook until onions are soft.

Put in large pot.

Add potatoes and clam juice.

Cook until potatoes are soft.

(If juice doesn't cover potatoes, add some water.)

When potatoes are cooked, add milk, clams and salt and pepper to taste. Cook until hot (do not boil).

If a thicker chowder is wanted, make paste of melted butter and flour.

Add to chowder.

Serves 8 to 10.
