Chunky Applesauce
Chunky Applesauce is an easy dinner. Made with 6 large cooking apples (granny smith or rome beauty), 1 c. water, 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon, 1/8 to 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg and 1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Peel, core and slice apples.
Combine apples and water in a Dutch oven.
Bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer 40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add cinnamon and nutmeg to apples.
Cook, uncovered, over medium heat 10 minutes or until liquid is evaporated.
Remove from heat.
Stir in brown sugar.
Let cool at least 30 minutes.
Makes 8 servings.
