Christmas Breakfast Casserole (Church Eggs)
Christmas Breakfast Casserole (Church Eggs) is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 8 eggs, slightly beaten, 8 slices white bread, remove crust, butter and cut into 1 1/2-inch cubes, 1 c. cheddar cheese, grated, 1 lb. sausage, cooked and 1 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Butter and cube bread.
Place cubes into large oblong pan that has been sprayed with Pam.
Place sausage over bread.
Mix all other ingredients and pour over bread and sausage.
Cover and refrigerate overnight.
(Can be frozen at this point.)
Bake unfrozen at 350Β° for 1 hour.
(Hence the name Church Eggs; can be baked while at church with timer.)
Frozen may bake 15 minutes longer.
