Chow-Chow
Chow-Chow is an impressive dinner you can prepare in about 1 hour 52 minutes. Made with gal. chopped cabbage, green sweet peppers, red sweet peppers, qt. green tomatoes and c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Chop all vegetables.
Soak overnight in 1/4 cup of salt.
Be sure water covers the vegetables.
In the morning, drain all the salt water off of the vegetables.
Place all spices in a cheesecloth bag.
Boil for 10 minutes in the vinegar (use a large pot).
Remove spice bag from vinegar.
Add sugar and mix well.
Add all vegetables.
Stir in well.
Bring to a boil, then turn stove off.
