Sift flour, sugar and salt. Bring to a boil the margarine, water, shortening and cocoa.
Pour over flour, sugar and salt. Mix by hand.
In another bowl, mix eggs, soda, buttermilk and vanilla.
Add to the other bowl and stir well.
Pour in a 13 x 9-inch well-greased pan. Bake at 350Β° for 25 minutes. Make icing the last 5 minutes of cake baking.
