Chocolate Mountains
Chocolate Mountains is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. shortening, 2 c. brown sugar, 2 eggs, well beaten, 2 1/2 tsp. vanilla and 3 1/2 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Cream shortening and brown sugar.
Add eggs and vanilla.
Sift together flour, salt and baking powder; add alternately with milk to the creamed mixture.
Add melted chocolate and melted additional fat.
Add nuts.
Drop from a teaspoon onto a greased cookie sheet.
Top with candied cherries.
Bake 15 minutes at 350Β°.
Makes 10 dozen.
