Cream butter; add sugar gradually.
Mix well.
Add milk and vanilla; mix well.
Chill about 2 hours.
Drain cherries.
Pat dry with paper towel.
Shape small amount of sugar mixture around cherries.

Allow cherries to chill about 2 to 3 hours.
