Chocolate Chip Date Torte

Sift flour, cocoa and salt.
Mix dates, boiling water and soda.
Cream oleo; add sugar and beaten eggs.
Add flour mixture alternately with date mixture.
Blend well.
Add vanilla. Put mixture in a large 9 x 13-inch loaf pan, greased.
Sprinkle top with chips and nuts.
Bake at 350Β° for 45 minutes.
