Mix cake as directed on box.
Fill cupcake liners 2/3 full with batter.
Mix together the cream cheese, sugar, egg and vanilla.
Add chips.
Put 1 teaspoon of this filling in center of cupcakes.
Bake at 325Β° for 15 minutes.
Makes 6 dozen cupcakes.
