Chocolate Caramel Nut Bars
Chocolate Caramel Nut Bars is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 (14 oz.) pkg. kraft caramels, 1 (5 oz.) can evaporated milk, divided, 1/2 c. melted margarine, 1 pkg. german chocolate cake mix with pudding and 1 1/2 c. chopped walnuts, divided, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Heat oven to 350Β°.
Melt caramels with 1/3 cup of the milk in heavy saucepan over low heat.
Mix remaining milk, margarine and cake mix in large bowl.
Press 1/2 of the cake mixture onto bottom of 9 x 13-inch pan.
Bake 10 minutes.
Sprinkle 1 cup of the walnuts and 1/2 of the chips over crust.
Top with caramel mixture spreading to edges of pan.
Top with teaspoonfuls of remaining cake mixture.
Press gently into caramel mixture.
Sprinkle remaining 1/2 cup nuts and 1/2 cup chips.
Bake 18 minutes.
Cool completely before cutting.
