Chocolate Caramel Nut Bars
Chocolate Caramel Nut Bars is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 (14 oz.) bag kraft caramels, 1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces, 1 box german chocolate (pudding) cake mix, 2/3 c. evaporated milk and 1/2 c. margarine, melted, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Melt caramels with 1/3 cup milk over low heat, stirring until smooth.
Combine remaining milk, cake mix and margarine; mix well. Press 1/2 of cake mixture into bottom of greased 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake at 350° for 8 minutes.
Sprinkle chocolate pieces and 1 cup walnuts over crust.
Top with caramel mixture, spreading to edge of pan.
Top with teaspoonfuls of remaining cake mixture.
Press gently into caramel mixture.
Sprinkle with remaining walnuts. Bake at 350° for 18 to 20 minutes.
Cool slightly, then refrigerate.
Cut into bars before serving.
