Chocolate Caramel Nut Bar is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 (14 oz.) pkg. kraft caramels, 1 (2 layer) german chocolate cake mix with pudding, 1/2 c. butter, melted, 1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces and 2/3 c. evaporated milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.

Melt caramels with 1/2 cup milk over low heat, stirring until smooth.

Combine remaining milk, mix and butter.

Mix well; press half of cake mixture into bottom of greased baking pan.

Bake at 350° for 6 minutes.

Sprinkle 1 cup walnuts (chopped) and chocolate pieces over crust.

Top with teaspoonful of remaining cake mixture. Press gently into caramel mixture.

Sprinkle with rest of walnuts, pressing lightly into top.

Bake at 350° for 20 minutes.

Cool slightly.

Refrigerate.

Cut into bars to serve.

Makes 2 dozen.
