Chocolate Cake
Chocolate Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 3/4 c. self-rising flour, 1 1/2 c. sugar, 1/2 c. cocoa, 1/2 c. crisco and 1 c. milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Heat oven to 350Β° (moderate).
Grease well and dust with flour 2 layer pans or an oblong pan.
Sift flour, sugar and cocoa in mixing bowl.
Add shortening, milk and vanilla.
Beat 2 minutes on medium speed on mixture.
Scrape sides and bottom of bowl constantly.
Add eggs.
Beat 2 more minutes, scraping bowl constantly.
Bake 9-inch layers about 30 minutes, oblong 40 to 50 minutes, or until when touched lightly in center, no imprint remains.
Ice with Fudge Frosting.
