*Chiffon Cake
*Chiffon Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. flour, sifted (gold medal), 1 1/2 c. sugar, 3 tsp. baking powder, 1 tsp. salt and 1/2 c. wesson oil, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Heat oven to 325Β°.
Use ungreased tube pan.
Sift dry ingredients into a bowl.
Make a well and add the oil, egg yolks, almonds, water and vanilla.
Beat 1 minute on medium speed.
Put egg whites and cream of tartar in a large mixing bowl; beat until very stiff peaks form.
Pour egg yolk mixture over and fold in (this is an important step).
Do not stir.
Fold in coconut.
