Chicken Paprikash
Chicken Paprikash is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 lb. chicken, 3 medium onions, sliced, 2 tbsp. paprika, 1 tbsp. shortening and 2 c. broth or water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Saute onions and paprika in shortening slowly for 10 minutes. Add disjointed chicken.
Cover pan and simmer until golden brown. Add broth; cook until tender, 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
Add water, if needed.
Blend flour, seasonings and sour cream 5 minutes before chicken is done.
Stir into mixture slowly.
Serve with noodles or dumplings.
