Chicken Barbecue
Chicken Barbecue is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. vegetable oil, 3/4 c. chopped onion, 3/4 c. water, 3/4 c. ketchup and 1/3 c. lemon juice, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Boil whole chicken or 4 breasts of chicken until tender.
Take off bone when cool.
Simmer listed ingredients together.
Add chicken to sauce and simmer slowly.
Take a portion of sauce and make a flour and water thickening.
Return to sauce, stirring constantly.
Add cooked mushrooms, if desired.
Serve over noodles or on rolls.
Freezes very well.
A great way to use leftover turkey, too!
