Chewy Oatmeal Cookies
Chewy Oatmeal Cookies is an impressive dessert you can prepare in about 1 hour 28 minutes. Made with c. butter, softened, c. lard, softened, c. sugar, c. firmly packed brown sugar and eggs, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Cream butter and lard in a large mixing bowl; gradually add sugar, beating well.
Add eggs and mix well.
Combine flour, baking powder, soda and salt in a small mixing bowl; add to creamed mixture, stirring until well blended.
Add oats, pecans and coconut, mixing well.
Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls, 2 inches apart, onto lightly greased cookie sheets.
Bake at 350Β° for 6 to 8 minutes.
Remove from cookie sheets, cool on wire racks.
Yields 10 dozen.
