Chew-Chews
Chew-Chews is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/3 c. soft shortening, 1 c. sugar, 1 c. molasses, 1/2 c. unbeaten eggs (4) and 1/4 tsp. soda, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Mix together the shortening, sugar and molasses.
Beat in the eggs very well.
Stir in the remaining ingredients until blended. Line a jelly roll pan (15 x 10 x 1-inch) with paper, then grease paper well.
Pour in batter.
Bake 30 to 35 minutes at 350Β°. Immediately turn onto wire rack.
Remove paper.
Turn right side up and cool.
Cut into 1 x 2-inch bars.
Makes 75 bars.
