Chess Squares
A two-layer bar with a yellow-cake base under a creamy, cream-cheese topping that bakes up gooey in the middle. A potluck classic that cuts into tidy squares.

👨🍳 Instructions
Mix the first 3 ingredients and pat with hands into a 9 x 13-inch pan, lightly greased.
Mix the remaining ingredients. Pour over other mixture.
Bake for 40 minutes at 350° (325° if glass baking dish).
Don't cut until completely cool.
