My mother made my favorite treat (chess pies) many times for me.
I can remember the wonderful aroma coming from the kitchen when I got home from school.
Sometimes I hid mine so I could guarantee my share.
When I grew up and became a teacher the treat was just as special when I got home, except that I hid mine from my husband and children, instead of just my brother.
